What may be going on
A window can appear to be off track when a guide, glass mount, or part of the regulator has let go. Pushing the switch repeatedly may make the glass sit at a worse angle. We inspect the door mechanism and the glass path, then secure and align the window as part of the repair.
Signs to tell us about
- Glass rises at an angle
- Gap at the top or side of the window
- Window jams or rubs while moving
- Glass slips down after being raised
How the repair works
The technician removes the door trim, checks the guides and mounts, identifies the failed component, and tests the glass through its full travel after the repair.
Should I keep trying the switch?
If the glass is crooked or binding, stop cycling it. That can strain the regulator or move the glass farther out of position.
